Our friend here, Miss TT (stage name, Rutabaga Turnip – I TOLD you I’d give you a veggie name!) is the ham of the family — ok ok, ONE of the Hams. In all seriousness, Miss Turnip is planning on getting into acting. As you will see from her photos below, even if the acting doesn’t pan out, she can be a Drew Barrymore impersonator. She looks exactly like Drew at the age of 8. Don’t believe me? See for yourself!
"Rutabaga Turnip", Drew Barrymore's Doppelgänger
side note: Miss Turnip calls her older sister “Arugula” - so I told her that because I don’t use kids’ names on my websites, but usually just use the first letter, that I would have to think of a cool vegetable name for her too. — She responded with a crinkled nose accompanied by a squint. =)
The following series of shots were the aftermath following Miss Turnip’s mommy and big sis teasing her about me taking photos of the ‘contents of her nose’… [wink] Who me? NEVER! =)
Turnip covering her nose then reprimanding her family for making her think I was photographing the insides of her nose...hee hee
Ever see episodes of Saturday Night Live or movies where no CGI has been used, but because of visual trickery people can be made to look reallllly small?
Big little sister, Turnip and little big sister Arugula...
On Sunday, I had the pleasure of meeting these two and their Mom, Jen, a local Charlotte actress who will be following in Rachel Ray’s footsteps as a Food Network personality. (In fact, when I get to finishing her headshots, you’ll see tha…t she actually resembles Rachel Ray!) “T” n “T” — LOL, they certainly are firecrackers, both in different ways. Both babies enjoyed the jungle gyms at the park, especially big brother. He’s a slide kinda guy! He got a little sad later (note the teardrops in a few photos) due to some sibling rivalry. (I promise I don’t make kids cry!! — in fact, he and I bonded over dinosaur sounds and such.) Lil Sis is definitely a Mama’s girl, and a true girlie girl. She enjoyed the sheer fabric I brought along as a prop — and it made for some angelic photos. These little darlings were a lot of fun to shoot and whenever I need a good workout, I’m calling their Momma! I did a combo session – headshots of Mom and candid kiddie portraits of her little ones. Photos were taken at Hornet’s Nest park in Charlotte – a great location for photo shoots! These are just a couple of samples. I will be posting more as I finish processing them. Enjoy!
Like Mama Like Daughter…Just look at those matching SMILES!
Mr Smarty Pants…
To try and get this fella to look up so I could get a good shot of his eyes, Mom would tell him to look up in the tree for a bird. After a few times, he caught on, and this look was the result.
footnote: [ahem] I’m embarrassed to tell you that I was so tired at the end of the shoot, that when his Mom said, “Look! A Bird!” — I actually craned my neck to look up in the tree above me – while everyone stared at me wondering what on earth I was doing…
